☀ notes of nutmeg and cedar wood
The Zibibbo Maganza from Luna Gaia (made by Lunaria Orsogna - more on this below) is clearly something special and for those who enjoy unusual taste experiences. On the nose, the Zibibbo has subtle notes of nutmeg and cedar wood, and on the palate it is very juicy, reminiscent of ripe apricots. Zibibbo Maganza demonstrates a wonderful interplay between acidity and fruit sweetness and is very appealing. Zibibbo is the Sicilian name for the Muscat d'Alexandrie grape variety. The large family of Muscat grapes is known for its wonderfully aromatic wines. This also applies to Zibibbo MAGANZA Terre Siciliane IGP.
The grapes for this wine (100% Zibibbo) are grown and harvested by the Demeter cooperative, Luna Gaia, in Sicily. The grapes are then transported to the Cooperative Lunaria Orsorgna in Abruzzo, where they are processed into first-class wines in Demeter quality. The name refers to the origin of the grapes, and the wines are sold under the name Luna Gaia. Lunaria Orsorgna is a well-known name in the organic wine sector and is known for excellent Demeter wines such as Coste di Moro Montepulciano d'Abruzzo or LA BELLE Malvasia Terre di Chieti IGP.
Recommendation: The Zibibbo from Luna Gaia needs air to develop. The wine should be enjoyed cool, but not too cool (between 8-10C°)
Zibibbo is a classic from Sicily. The Muscat d'Alexandrie grape variety is known in Italian by the synonym Zibbibo. However, it is not a pure noble grape for wines (dry white wines or dessert wines), but is also appreciated in some places as a table grape, i.e. an eating grape. At the same time, this wonderful grape can also be enjoyed dried. In the world of wine, the Zibibbo vine provides the basis for aromatic, spectacular sweet and dry white wines. The Zibibbo Terre Siciliane IGP MAGANZA Luna is a dry white wine.
The basic taste of Zibibbo varies depending on the wine style. Zibibbo can be produced both as a white dessert wine and as a dry white wine. The range of aromas extends accordingly from honey and candied citrus fruits to almonds, nutmeg and cedar wood. Depending on the style, the alcohol content also varies between 13 and 16 percent by volume.
In general, Zibibbo wines tend to be richer in alcohol than conventional white wines. Luna Gaia's Zibibbo has only 13.1 percent alcohol by volume. The dry white Zibibbo is a versatile food companion. It goes particularly well with Asian dishes that have a certain sweetness or spiciness, such as Thai curries or sushi. Zibibbo is also an excellent accompaniment to light dishes such as salads, fresh fish or poultry. We believe that the Luna Gaia version goes particularly well with shellfish.
