Greek wine online

Our small but fine range of organic Greek wines would also please Dionysus, the god of wine. Our range is characterised by traditional Greek wines that are produced according to the highest organic standards. Greece can look back on over 4000 years of wine culture. This long tradition and indigenous grape varieties combined with state-of-the-art pressing and cultivation methods are rightly revitalising Greek wine. Because Greece has more to offer than resinous Retsina. In our online range you will find wines skilfully made from autochthonous grape varieties such as Assyrtiko, Vilana, Xino-Mavro, Roditis, Limnio, Agiorgitiko and Krassato.

Which wine comes from Greece?

When you think of Greek wine, the first thing that often comes to mind is the famous Retsina. This unique white wine (also available as a rosé version), which is infused with pine resin, has a long tradition and a very characteristic flavour that is either loved or shunned. But Greece has much more to offer than retsina.

Greece is a country with a wine culture dating back thousands of years (more than 4000 years) and an impressive variety of wines. One of the best-known wines or grape varieties is Assyrtiko, a fresh white wine that is mainly found on the Aegean islands. Another notable white wine is Moschofilero from the Peloponnese region, which is known for its aromatic and floral notes. It is often seen as similar to Pinot Gris or Gewürztraminer.

Among the red wines, Xinomavro from northern Greece is worthy of special mention. It is often compared to Nebbiolo from Italy and is characterised by its strong structure and complex aromas. Equally popular is Agiorgitiko from the Nemea region, which is appreciated for its velvety tannins and fruity flavours.

In addition to these grape varieties, however, there are many other indigenous grape varieties to discover. Greece is characterised by a variety of terroirs and the Mediterranean climate and can boast a wide range of wine specialities. Whether white wine, red wine or rosé - young or mature - Greek wines offer something for every taste, whether you are a Greece lover, wine connoisseur or casual drinker.
