Rosé is one of the most popular types of wine today and is a real all-rounder. Whether as an accompaniment to food or as a refreshing pleasure at any time of year - rosé is always a good choice. While rosé used to be considered more of a summer wine, presumably because it was drunk very cold, it has now been shown that it can be enjoyed all year round. At the same time, rosé has often been underestimated in the past by both consumers and winegrowers and portrayed as second-class.

However, skilful vinification shows that rosé wine has many talents and that these can also be expressed. It is available in many variations, from fruity and sparkling to fine wines with subtle roasted flavours from wooden barrels. The variety of flavours and increasing quality are also reflected in the sales figures. Rosé now accounts for around 13 per cent of total sales in Germany, and the trend is rising.

The trend is clearly moving away from heavy red wines towards light, delicate, fruity and uncomplicated wines. Rosé fits perfectly into this picture. Whether as a summer and terrace wine, as an aperitif or simply as a wonderfully fruity accompaniment, rosé is in demand. This trend reversal and increasing popularity of rosé is also reflected in some wine-growing regions. For example in Bordeaux. A region that is better known for opulent red wines with great ageing potential is producing more and more fruity, fresh and crisp rosé wines.
