The 100% Italian tomato sauce called Salsa alle Melanzane is a traditional, ready-made tomato sauce with vegetables that is completely free from additives. The organic sauce is ready to eat. Heat briefly and pour over your favourite pasta – done!

The tomatoes used are carefully processed directly after being harvested in Tuscany to preserve the flavour, colour and nutrients. Preserved in the traditional way, with absolutely no additives, this all-aubergine salsa offers a taste experience in a class of its own.

The tomato sauce with aubergine is made from the finest organic ingredients: sun-ripened organic tomatoes from Tuscany, aubergine (10%), onions, carrots, celery, basil and rounded off with a pinch of sea salt and extra virgin olive oil. No additives whatsoever!

The fresh tomatoes used in this sauce come directly from picturesque Tuscany – the origin and production site of this exquisite tomato speciality. Made from purely organic ingredients according to a traditional recipe, this ready-to-eat tomato sauce is the ideal addition to any pasta dish. But it is also an excellent base for stews and other Italian classics such as bolognese or lasagne.

Salsa alle Melanzane from Mediterranea Belfiore in Tuscany

The ‘Salsa alle Melanzane’ comes from Mediterranea Belfiore, a family business run by three sisters, Simonetta, Emiliana and Antonella Ciarlo, in Cecina. Belfiore's passatas and sauces are affectionately known as Le Salse del Cuore, which means ‘sauces of the heart’. You can taste the dedication.

To preserve the freshness and flavour of the fully ripe, freshly harvested fruits, they are processed immediately after harvesting. After being washed several times, the tomatoes are sorted by hand and processed immediately. The tomato specialities with added herbs and vegetables such as aubergines, onions, carrots, celery and peppers are always fresh too; the basil in particular is grown with great care by Belfiore and harvested with much love by Mamma Renza and then added by hand to each jar.
