In the late 1970s, two Austrians, Fritz and Burgi Bläuel, settled in the Mani region to explore alternative ways of life and economic systems. There they began to establish organic agriculture and the production of high-quality olive oil in collaboration with a few individual olive farmers. To date, MANI Bläuel has supported more than 300 farming families in converting to organic agriculture.
