MANI Kalamata olives in brine I Organic quality from Greece

These naturally debittered organic Kalamata olives from Greece, preserved in fresh sea salt brine, are a delight for olive lovers and gourmets. The oval shape, fleshy texture and mild, fruity flavour are typical of the Kalamata olive and make it one of the most sought-after table olives in the world.

The ripe, black Kalamata olives (Kalomon variety) are harvested relatively late compared to other olive varieties. They are named after the city (Kalamata) in the Messinia region of the Peloponnese, where they originate and are mainly produced. They are also harvested in the neighbouring areas of Laconia. Harvesting is done entirely by hand. Fine-meshed nets are spread out under the olive trees and the olives are gently harvested by hand with the help of hand shakers. This gentle harvest ensures that the olives are not damaged and at the same time a quality selection takes place. Immediately afterwards, the olives are cleaned and naturally de-bittered in a vinegar-salt brine. This gentle and traditional processing ensures that the olives retain their nutritional content.

These excellent table olives are a real delicacy. Whether on their own as an appetiser, in salads and/or in hot dishes.
