The organic Kalamata olives preserved in olive oil in canisters (tinplate) are something for real olive lovers and connoisseurs. The total weight of the canister is 4.7 kg. Of these, 3 kg are pure black organic Kalamata table olives. 1.7 kg are extra virgin organic Mani olive oil. The oval shape, the dark purple colour and the mild, fruity taste of Kalamata olives make this olive variety an excellent table olive and therefore a real delicacy. Mani Kalamata olives in olive oil are very versatile: Enjoy them on their own as an appetiser or snack, as a garnish for salads, with tzatziki or in hot dishes - for example as a pizza topping. The Mani organic olive oil with a total quantity of 1.7 kg is ideal for consumption. Whether for salad dressings or for cooking. By storing the Kalamata olives in the oil, the olive oil absorbs some of their flavour, making it even spicier and more aromatic.

The tin canister is the ideal container, as it optimally protects the contents from external influences such as light and temperature. Nevertheless, we recommend storing the canister in a cool, dry place away from light. Make sure that the lid is always tightly closed.

Traditional processing for the best flavour

The ripe, black Kalamata olives are carefully harvested by hand and then naturally debittered in a vinegar and salt brine - without any chemical additives. Although this traditional debittering process takes a little longer, it ensures exceptional quality and an incomparable flavour. After the debittering process, the olives are marinated in high-quality organic extra virgin olive oil from MANI. MANI Kalamata olives are 100% organically grown. Kalamata olives of the Kalamon variety are very popular due to their nutritional benefits and healthy fat content.

Recipe idea: Mediterranean olive and pasta salad

How about a fresh, Mediterranean olive and pasta salad? Cook fusilli or penne al dente and mix with Mani Kalamata olives, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh cherry tomatoes, rocket and diced feta. Add a dressing with a little olive oil from the canister, lemon juice, garlic and oregano. A light and refreshing salad, ideal for hot days or as a side dish for barbecues.

Storing Kalamata olives in the canister

After opening the canister, the olives should always be covered with olive oil. This ensures a long shelf life. The canister should be stored in a cool, dry place. For daily use, we recommend transferring the olives to sealable glass containers so that the canister is opened as rarely as possible. The lid of the canister should be well sealed and airtight.
