The Grillo grape variety is mainly grown in Sicily and forms the basis for the liqueur wine Marsala. However, in recent years the grape variety has increasingly been vinified into excellent dry white wines. Grillo wines are known for their flavour, which is intense and rich in fruity hints. This is also the case with the Grillo white wine from the Sicilian winery Maggio Vini.
The organic Grillo wine ANTURA Sicilia DOP in organic quality impresses with fruity notes of peach and apricot on the nose. On the palate, there is a note reminiscent of green apples. The finish is rather mineral.
Grillo white wines can be stored well. The reason for this is the relatively high alcohol content for white wines. In the case of the organic Grillo (Grillo ANTURA Sicilia DOP) from Maggio Vino, the white wine has an alcohol content of 12.9%. However, the wine has a certain lightness and is an excellent accompaniment to Mediterranean cuisine.
