The Bardolino DOC impresses at first glance with its charming design. The label shows a goose in a red (almost mahogany) suit, nonchalantly holding a wine glass in one wing, while the other wing rests in its pocket. In the glass, it shows even more depth and at the same time a beautiful, pleasant lightness: carefree yet full-bodied, uncomplicated yet not trivial. This Bardolino DOC red wine contains the typical red wine grapes: Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella.
The Corvina (also Corvina Veronese) is a red grape variety from the Verona plain. Today it is grown almost exclusively in Veneto. Corvina is mainly found in cuvées and is the main variety of Valpolicella and Bardolino wines. Another classic Bardolino grape is the Corvinone Veronese. This red wine variety is almost exclusively native to Veneto. It is robust and high-yielding and is often used as a blend with regional grape varieties. Rondinella, the third in the bunch, is also a red wine variety from Veneto and a classic component of Bardolino wines.
