The Platero from the Parra family in Spain is a tantalising red wine cuvée that combines the power of Tempranillo and the wildness of Syrah. This Demeter red wine enchants with a harmonious interplay of down-to-earthness and passion. The Tempranillo lays the calm foundation, while the Syrah joins in impetuously and ignites a veritable firework of flavours.
The family around Javier, Francisco and Luis Antonio Parra Jimenez is known above all for its high-quality Demeter wines. The centrepiece of the business is the Finca Bernarda in the heart of La Mancha. The wine grows on the red clay/loam soils surrounded by cereal fields at an altitude of around 600 metres above sea level. Here, 180 hectares are dedicated to Tempranillo alone, while the remaining 70 hectares are divided between Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Garnacha, Verdejo, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc (available to buy from us), Riesling, Airén and Monastrell (in the shop) & Moscatel. However, the Parra family also produces high-quality Demeter-certified olive oil.
