What is the shelf life of olive oil?

Regardless of the manufacturer's best-before date, expired olive oil can be used years after the expiry date with proper storage.

How is olive oil stored correctly?

Olive oil should be stored in a dark place, at temperatures that are not too cool, between ten and 18 degrees. It is important that the bottle (preferably a dark bottle) or canister is well sealed, otherwise some components may react with oxygen and affect the quality. When decanting the oil into other containers, it is of course important to ensure that they are clean.
