The PANTHEON Rapsani gU from Tsantali is a real treat for the palate. This organic red wine from the slopes of Mount Olympus consists of three Greek grape varieties: Xinomavro, Krassato and Stavroto. The cuvée from the three grapes is very well balanced, with a cool Burgundian note and a lot of elegance.
Rapsani, a small town on the southern slopes of Mount Olympus, was probably formed in the 10th century by the union of four smaller settlements. According to tradition, Rapsani was an extraordinary and extremely active woman who managed to unite these four small villages into a larger and stronger community. The existence of six water mills from the 12th, 13th and 14th centuries proves that Rapsani was a thriving Byzantine town with a history of over 900 years. The region was once known for its stately wine-growing area. Unfortunately, however, only 100 ha remain, which some very good and successful Greek winegrowers have fortunately rediscovered for themselves.
The vineyards are located between 250 and 800 metres above sea level. The wine from the slopes of Mount Olympus, from the autochthonous varieties Xinomavro, Krasato and Stavroto, is powerful, of good structure and can be stored for a long time.
