The 100% Italian Salsa Rustica sauce is a traditional, ready-made tomato sauce with vegetables that contains absolutely NO additives. The tomatoes used, which come from Tuscany, are gently processed immediately after harvesting to preserve the flavour, colour and nutrients. With absolutely NO additives and traditionally preserved, Salsa Rustica offers a taste experience in a class of its own.

Salsa Rustica consists only of sun-ripened, organic tomatoes from Tuscany, onions, carrots, celery, basil and a pinch of sea salt. No additives whatsoever!

The fresh tomatoes used in this sauce come directly from picturesque Tuscany – the place of origin and production of this exquisite tomato speciality. Made from purely organic ingredients according to a traditional recipe, this ready-to-eat tomato sauce is the ideal addition to any pasta dish. But it is also an excellent base for stews and other Italian classics such as bolognese or lasagne.

Salsa Rustica from Mediterranea Belfiore in Tuscany

Salsa Rustica comes from Mediterranea Belfiore, a family business run by three sisters, Simonetta, Emiliana and Antonella Ciarlo, in Cecina. It is a story of love for agriculture and a dedication to the production of high-quality organic tomato products. Belfiore's passatas and sauces are lovingly named Le Salse del Cuore, which means sauces of the heart. Belfiore stands for meticulous care and dedication throughout the entire processing chain. To preserve the freshness and fragrance of the ripe, freshly picked fruit, processing takes place in the shortest possible time. After several careful washing cycles, the tomatoes are selected by trained hands and immediately converted into juice, pulp or sauce. This is done at a gently low temperature to preserve the unmistakable fragrance.
