As a family business with 30 years of experience, we focus on quality, transparency and fair prices. What began with a vision and a small product range has now developed into a broad-based online delicatessen shop that offers both end customers and wholesalers a wide range of Mediterranean delicacies. Since our online delicatessen shop was founded in 1998, we are proud to be able to bring the flavours of the south and the Mediterranean directly to our customers' homes with exquisite products, especially in Germany and Austria. Since 1998, we have focused on organic products, flavour and quality.

At Protos Mediterranean Specialities, we have been working closely with selected producers for almost 30 years to offer you high-quality Mediterranean delicatessen products. Our long-standing partnerships with family-run businesses and certified organic producers from Greece, Italy, Spain and other countries in the Mediterranean region form the foundation of our range. Many of our producers have been with us since Protos Mediterranean Specialities was founded, and together we share a passion for top quality, sustainability and traditional craftsmanship. In this article, we would like to introduce you to three of these speciality producers who have been an integral part of our delicatessen range for years.
We are proud to look back on almost 30 years of collaboration with our oldest partner, the Bläuel family from MANI in Greece. Since Protos Mediterranean Specialities was founded in 1995, we have been sourcing olive oil and olives of the highest quality from the Bläuel family. Our shared history began with the private label ‘Protos olive oil, extra virgin, organic, Naturland’, which was bottled by Mani Bläuel. At that time, our range consisted of only two olive varieties (Amfissa and Kalamata) and two types of olive oil (organic and conventional).
Over the years, our collaboration has intensified and more and more Mani Bläuel products have found their way into our range. Today we offer a variety of Mani products, such as high-quality MANI olive oil, Greek olives and olive cosmetics. The Bläuel family is a true organic pioneer in the Peloponnese, and we are delighted to have been travelling this path together for almost three decades.
Another important partner is Giuseppe Sarubbi from Calabria. The Sarubbis have been supplying us with typical specialities from their region for many years. Their products range from aromatic sauces and pronto sugo specialities to fruity jams made according to traditional recipes. Calabria is known for its intense flavours, and these are reflected in every Giuseppe Sarubbi product. The care with which the products are made and the close connection to the regional cuisine make this collaboration so special. For us, Giuseppe Sarubbi epitomises authenticity and the Italian way of life.
The chilli specialities from Peperita in Tuscany are a highlight of our range. Peperita is a small company that specialises in the cultivation and processing of chillies from all over the world. Here you will find these chilli powder specialities, from habanero to jalapeno. Everything your chilli heart desires. Each product delivers a special flavour experience, including the spicy olive oils from Tuscany. From mild to fiery hot. The producers' passion for their products and the meticulous craftsmanship are reflected in the unrivalled quality.
