Olive oil soap far surpasses the status of a fragrant souvenir from a holiday in the Mediterranean. Olive soap with its graceful greenish shimmer has been highly valued for centuries - and not without reason. The olive oil soap from MANI Bläuel has a particularly high proportion of moisturising MANI organic olive oil and is therefore suitable for frequent washing. The fragrance is reminiscent of Greek gardens, sun and sea. This soap is based on MANI organic olive oil.

Olive soap from Greece has been around since ancient times and was used for skin and hair care. The traditional production process can take several weeks to turn the high-quality vegetable oil into a fragrant soap. To do this, the olive oil is heated for several days and continuously mixed with water and soda until saponification occurs. After the saponification process is complete, essential oils are added shortly before the salting is complete. After boiling, the caustic soda is poured off. The soap mass is then allowed to cool and drain overnight. In the next step, the mass is poured into large wooden moulds to dry and harden. This process can also take several days. Finally, the soap blocks are cut into handy rectangles and stored in a dry place again.

However, MANI olive soap is not produced in Greece, but in Austria, more precisely in Salzburg. How long can olive soap be kept?

Curd soaps, including natural olive soaps, do not have an expiry date in the strict sense. However, over time, and especially if not stored properly (humidity), the texture and smell of the soap can change. Therefore, we recommend storing it in a dry place and using the soap within 12 months.
